How's My Driving?

What do you think about how I play Riku Replica? Things you like, things you hate, things to improve on? Please give me a little more to work off of than "You suck, go die in a fire" as that tends not to help me actually improve my playing.

[ One of the first things Kohan thinks, when he opens his eyes to find that he's back in House 39, is that it really couldn't have been that much effort to drop him three more feet to the left. Admittedly, the wood floor is still a vast improvement over the cold stone of the cell from the past few weeks, but the couch is three feet to the left. They couldn't have just dropped him on the couch?

It takes him several minutes to gather the energy to move. As far as he can tell, they didn't leave him with any lingering experiments. Not that he can tell. He's just exhausted. Kohan lost track of time while they were experimenting on him, but it's been a while. There's probably been people who were worried about him. And while Ven is likely to come across him sitting here, still gathering the energy to move up to the couch, a certain someone else isn't likely to wander through his house any time soon.

Good thing his journal is nearby. ]

Hey. [ He doesn't do a good job of hiding the exhaustion in his voice. ] I know it's been a while, but... I'm back. Still in one piece... as far as I can tell.

They don't always give you weird side effects after kidnapping, right? Because when you don't think anything's wrong, but it is... that's usually pretty bad, isn't it.

So, um... I was wondering. [ There's a bit of shifting, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of a piece of paper being picked up right next to the journal. ] How true were the things on your card? Like... most of mine were sort of true, but for the wrong reasons.

... Would you have liked some of them better if they were actually the way you'd been told?

Or... do you have any that still don't make sense?

...

Guess I'm just... not sure what to make of this. [ Especially that last one. ]

[ Backdated to the morning after CJ's announcement ]

[ She hadn't been there when he got up in the morning. He'd checked, halfheartedly, for signs that she was still around. But he'd done his best not to get his hopes up... and in the end, maybe that was for the best.

When he addresses the journal, it's clear that Kohan's upset, even though he's doing his best to keep his voice level. ]

To anyone who knew her... Namine's... gone back home.

... Guess that's it.

Oh, right. Good luck to those of you going out to fight.

[ He'll be brooding for a couple hours before going out to train by the barracks as usual... though today he's more distracted than normal and quits soon after lunchtime. He's markedly absent from his little corner of the library that evening. ]

[ Filter from Namine - 32% (hey, he's trying) ]

Hey. Does anyone have suggestions for... [ he hesitates for a moment, before just saying it ] learning to draw? I've been using books in the library, but I don't think I'm getting it. I wanted to know if maybe... someone can tell me what I'm missing.

[ From a couple days ago onwards, Kohan could be found sitting at a desk in the corner of the library, hunched over a sketchpad with a few books strewn open around him. He's just trying to draw figures at this point, but the lines always come out unsteady and the proportions are rather off. Still, he presses on, drawing page after page of shaky, disproportioned people from mid afternoon or so until late into the night.

Housemates are free to notice that he's been coming back home much later than usual. ]

[ Hey, Luceti. It's a face you haven't seen for a while. Well, actually you've probably seen the face, but not this one in particular. After some serious soul-searching, Repliku seems to have (mostly) recovered from his Heartlessification save for a few black streaks in his hair. But just because he's human again isn't going to make this any less awkward.

First stop is to hover around the spot where he knows House 14 should be, even if he can't see it. There's a couple of you in there he'd kind of like to know about this and one he'd sort of rather not, but he's gonna have to face you eventually.

Then it's time to head back to House 39 to... meet his housemates all over again. HI GUYS, THIS WON'T BE AWKWARD AT ALL.

Feel free to also catch him en route. ]

[ The entry that goes up is short, specifically directed at those who would recognize the name. ]

If Namine happens to show up here again...

[ But that's all that's written, and all that will be written. The journal that originated the message is closed soon after and left behind on a bed in House 39. Beneath it is a sketchbook, and next to it, a plush paopu fruit. A page has been ripped out of the journal and placed on top of the pile. Written messily on it is the message

"Don't touch
I'll be back for them"

and in smaller writing beneath,

"and don't let Vanitas touch either"

The one who left these messages is gone soon after these appear. Sorry housemates, no goodbyes. ]

[ Action for House 39 ]

[ The first thing that Repliku notices, once he realizes he's not with the Malnosso any longer, is that it's cramped wherever he is. He notices this by flailing rolling over and hitting his shoulder against the top of... whatever space he's wedged in. The second thing that he notices is that it's dark. Not particularly dark. But dark nonetheless. The third thing he notices is the area of light off to one side.

And then he realizes, as he crawls out from the space... that he's in a very familiar room.

A little while later, the following goes out over the journals, in Repliku's characteristically messy writing. But he's getting better! ]

If you could forget every nevermind, that's stupid.

Do any of you [ a pause ] have things you'd rather not remember?

[ Those of you still out and about on the last day of the event might find yourselves treated to a little... decoration.

Repliku got his hands on some streamers, and really, what else do you do with streamers? You hang them up all over the village, of course! These are the times when being able to climb up the side of buildings comes in handy. So he's moving about the town square hanging streamers from rooftop to rooftop. Because, well, it'll probably cheer people up, right? That's a good thing. And no one has to see him setting them up as long as he works quickly enough.

... Except for the fact that streamers aren't meant to be stretched so far, so they keep tearing under their own weight and he has to fix them. So the whole process is taking a lot longer than it should. Those of you who've seen him around enough might notice that his movements are a bit more fluid than they used to be as he moves about maintaining his decorations and totally failing at not being spotted. ]

((I'm probably going to bed soon, tags will come tomorrow))

[ Repliku has been making himself scarce around House 39 ever since the experiment, mostly just checking in to make sure Namine's sketchbook was still there before disappearing again. After enough time to get over his frustration of losing his real body (again) and to get his head back on straight... he's ready to go home.

He's not sure whether he scrawls the message out as a warning or courtesy, but it's messily written and fail!filtered to the members of House 39. ]

I'm back, I guess.

[ Afterward, he can be found around or in house 39, mostly staring off into space. ]

[ In the town square, freshly imprinted in the snow is the impression of a face down figure. A face down human figure, but all that lies to be seen there now is a Heartless, unconscious, in the same position.

Or maybe he's only sleeping. Probably not, though. ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ looking)
[ This afternoon, a Heartless can be found walking about all over the village. Repliku seems like he's looking for something that he has no idea how to find. Clutched close to him is not a Luceti journal, but a thin, spiral-bound, reddish-tan sketchbook.

Occasionally you might instead find him crouched next to a building or tree, flipping through it slowly. If you happen to get a glimpse, the drawings are all crayon sketches. ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ looking)
[ Repliku has finally ventured out into the crowd, driven mostly by curiosity. Please don't step on him.

Also, since this is 4th wall after all, non-Luceti folks are welcome to read the extra text in the action brackets. ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ looking)
[ If you happen to be passing over the river near House 16, in the clearing between road and river stands a Heartless, surrounded by somewhat melted snow. Now that a large fraction of the village is off being drafted, Repliku is taking advantage of less people being around and trying to re-learn some things that he's lost since turning into a Heartless. Currently this means Dark Firaga.

As is demonstrated by the fact that the best he's getting for his efforts is some melted snow and occasional flickers of flame that die out in a second, it's not exactly going well. At least there's no trees around to accidentally catch flame if he does pull it off? ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ looking)
[ If you are out around the center of town, you might happen to see a Heartless scurrying about, looking in some of the shops. He's given up on trying to be sneaky about it, and he's searching all over pretty much every shop that has anything even remotely interesting.

He doesn't actually know what he's looking for. And it shows. ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ looking)
[ In the lake south of the village, there is a commotion today. What sort of commotion? A small, dark creature is wading out into the shallows where it struggles and flails and splashes a lot. After a while it manages to make its way back to shore. There it waits for a little, shaking off the water and gathering energy back again, before repeating this whole process once more.

Repliku is trying to relearn swimming. It is not going well. ]
personafalsify: (ssǝlʇɹɐǝɥ ♥ a new face)
[ Hey, Luceti. Having fun with those monsters?

Well, if you happen to be out and about, you might happen to wander across a Heartless.

But this is not your normal Heartless fare. Oh no. Because you see, this Heartless has filial wings.

And if you attack him he will probably run.

No this is NOT the AU event 8D ]
