[ okay you know what I have been trying to come up with a limerick response and I am not that creative SO

Kohan, being the type to be convinced to do mundane things when he doesn't have any reason not to, has discovered that the grocery store is conspicuously lacking eggnog. Which has left him seeking out other avenues of obtaining said drink.

Seventh Heaven seems to be the best candidate, so guess where he's walking into? ]

[Ion didn't know who to expect that day, but the sight of Kohan walking into the restaurant was far from an unwelcome one. In fact, the smile on his face just grows tenfold as he makes his way over--]

[Oh, that's odd. For some reason, he finds he can't exactly move from this spot. Maybe it would be better to just call Kohan over here! And so, raising up an arm, he waves with a goofy smile. His face looks just a bit more flushed than usual as well.]

Kohan! Over here!

[ -oh, hey. He recognizes that voice. Kohan looks up in surprise and a small smile spreads across his face. ]

Hey. What are you doing here?

[ Luckily (?) for them, he doesn't stop near enough to Ion to cause... issues. ]

[It shouldn't be too hard for Kohan to notice something is a little off. He doesn't look tired, but the way he's talking certainly makes him sound tired.]

Oh, I just needed to come get something at the shop earlier today. But then I didn't feel like walking all the way back home, so I came here. I thought maybe I'd run into someone I knew. [Insert girlish giggle here.] And then you showed up!

[ ... Ion that was a very girly giggle. What was that. ]

Oh. [ ... ] Are you alright? You don't sound all that well.

Really? I feel all right, though. In fact, I feel great! [And he takes a few steps towards Kohan to prove it -- you know, by showcasing his inability to walk without teetering a little bit.]

[ ... yeah okay sure Ion. ]

How about we sit down? I was going to order something anyway.

[ Which means he'll be quickly sliding into a chair at a conveniently empty table right nearby them. ]

Oh, all right! [Then Ion will just take the seat directly across from him! And then kind of stare off into space for a few seconds before looking back at Kohan with that same silly smile.]

[Hope you don't mind him chattering your ears off, Kohan. For someone who sounds tired when he talks, it doesn't sound as though he'll ever get tired of talking right now. He's probably even going to bring up things he'd never really mention otherwise!]

I should probably get something too. I haven't really eaten very much today, but I suppose I just wasn't that hungry. But I guess I'm never really that hungry in the morning, since I got so used to not eating until dinner time, but whenever I did that Dist would get mad at me later, but even though he's not here anymore, that just means I need to pay more attention to myself... I think.

[There's just a brief pause for a moment of reflection there... and then he's already mentally moved on, leaning across the table with his smile in full-force!!]

So what were you going to order?

[ Wow, Ion. Just. Wow. ]

Eggnog. You should have something to eat.

Eggnog? Oh, I've had that before! It's really good. But a little weird. But that's probably just because I've never had something like it before.

[Thiiiiinking.] Maybe I could get some too...

You should probably eat something. Look, I'll order food if you will. How about that?

Okay! [Smiiiling. He'll probably just order something easy to snack on like french fries but would they really be called that in worlds without France? WHO KNOWS in between laying his head down on the table and giggling occasionally.]

[He's... definitely out of it.]

[ ... Gathering that.

They can be potato sticks or something. ]

... Are you sure you're okay?

[ Also he is now ordering his potato sticks and some eggnog. ]

[He's been kind of quietly humming to himself now, but he looks up when Kohan speaks again. But he still keeps his head laying down on the table, which results in a somewhat crooked smile.]

Are you worried about me, Kohan?

Well--... Of course I am. You're acting strange.

[distressedude]

But I told you I was fine, didn't I? [He sits up straight this time, as if trying to prove just how "fine" he is. But it doesn't last very long, and soon enough he's leaning down on the table again -- this time, reaching out to set a hand on top of Kohan's.]

I'm sorry for making you worry.

[ ... Yeah uh. ]

... Should you... head home? Maybe you're tired...

[ Also is this experiment doing something weird to you. ]

...I guess I do feel a little tired. [He's not letting go, though. True, it might not be something he ever does with Kohan, but for Ion? Hand holding isn't that out there in terms of things he'd do with a friend.]

[ HE WILL NOT BE SWAYED BY YOUR PUPPY EYES. ]

...I said I was a little tired, didn't I?

I will! I will. [Trying SUPER HARD to focus right now and not doing so well.]

...if I eat something, will you stop telling me to go home?

[ Because at least he can keep Ion upright. ]

[VICTORY and now he's all smiles. And he'll continue smiling as he orders and gets some funny looks from the waiters/waitresses on duty today before going back to laying his head on the table and humming happily to himself.]

[Yes, Kohan, he's totally fine right now.]

[ Meanwhile Kohan's eggnog will come, so he'll just... start sipping it and pretend Ion's hand isn't still on his own. ]

... You're right. This does taste a little strange.
